On Wednesday, the new logo for US Soccer was leaked by Footy Headlines. The logo (which you can see here) will be the new face of US Soccer for men, women and youth national teams. The new logo will be introduced in 2016 for the start of the Copa America Centenario.

The logo will be shown to the public with the new rumor USMNT jersey that was leaked in April for the Copa America.

By introducing the new symbol, US Soccer is kissing good bye the old logo that the world recognized the United States. However, it also puts in the rear view mirror the Yanks old dreams, nightmares, success and failures.

Now the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) is ushering in a new era of soccer in this country. The new logo lays out fresh pages to write the USMNT and USWNT new chapters.

Both will be filled with new achievements and also disasters, not to mention this will represent the new symbol for the world to view American soccer. It will no longer be the 1990’s cartoonish symbol that has represented the United States for now 22 years.

The new logo is a touch of the past and modern era of US Soccer. The soccer ball and the three stars from the 1993 logo have been removed. Now there is a simple and cleaner logo that will be displayed next year.

Instead of the 1993 logo there is just red and white stripes on the bottom, and bold navy colors letters which say “USA” on the top. The new symbol shares similarities to the 1950 logo the Yanks portrayed in the World Cup.

However, the American people will have to wait till 2016 for the new era of US Soccer to be introduced to the public.

What do you think of the new logo?
