Group B is set after two games in the 2015 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifications and A is on the verge of finalizing their group.

There have been eight games played so far in the tournament and the goals have been coming. At the current moment there are five players tied for first place in the Golden Boot race. These five players have scored two goals each: Michael Petrasso (Canada), Marco Bueno (Mexico), Jordan Morris (USA), Anthony Lozano (Honduras) and Jerome Kiesewetter (USA).

Twenty five times the ball has hit the back of the net, but only six out of the eight countries participating in the qualifications have scored. Both Costa Rica and Haiti from group B have yet to score in the tournament. However, Los Ticos and Les Grenadiers have not been able to score because of a lack effort. The two countries have still managed to combine for 34 shots on target, but still no luck for them.

Mexico and Honduras have qualified to the semifinals of the tournament. Both nations won their first two games by outscoring their opponents a combined 8-0. The only thing left for group B to decide is who will finish first and potential avoid the United States in the semifinals.

Group B

1.Mexico 6 2 2 0 0 5 0 5
2.Honduras 6 2 2 0 0 3 0 3
3.Haita 0 2 0 0 2 0 2 -2
4.Costa Rica 0 2 0 0 2 0 6 -6

The next two matches will be played on Wednesday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Costa Rica and Haiti will start the day. However, this game has no importance since both nations have been eliminated from the tournament.

The big match up will be Mexico versus Honduras. If the Mexicans tie or win the match they will win the group based on their higher goal differential. Los Catrachos need to simply defeat El Tri to secure the group.

Prediction: Costa Rica 1-2 Haiti and Mexico 3-1 Honduras

The United States are running away with group A by earning six points in two matches. The Canadians need to replicate their 3-1 performance against Panama in their next match to punch their ticket to the semis. Panama and Cuba have only earned a point apiece in their first two matches, so they will need big victories to advance.

4.Cuba 1 2 0 1 1 2 7 -5

The final two matches will be played on Tuesday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Canada will be able to qualify to the next round by just defeating Cuba. The Caribbean Nation cannot just beat Les Rouges they have to score a few goals to advance.

Los Canaleros like the Cubans cannot leave Colorado without three points. Anything less than that and their Olympic dreams are over. The United States only need a point to win the group.

Prediction: Canada 4-1 Cuba and USA 2-1 Panama

With these results the semifinal matches would be: USA versus Honduras and Mexico against Canada. Both games will be played on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium. Now let’s see how the group stages end.
