According to numerous media outlets, the LA Galaxy are in talks with Roma's Ashley Cole and are keen on bringing him to the United States.

Void to fill for Galaxy

This week the Galaxy made an interesting move when they sold defender Omar Gonzalez to Liga MX team Pachuca for an undisclosed fee.

A five year veteran of the Galaxy, Gonzalez was an anchor for a great Galaxy defense that only allowed 37 goals this past season. The centerback was a big part of the defense and the Galaxy will miss his physicality. He made over 200 appearances for LA and was a big part of the team.

What can Ashley Cole bring to LA?

Cole would bring a lot of experience to LA at the back after Gonzalez was sold. The left back won numerous trophies with both Chelsea and Arsenal including the UEFA Champions League with the Blues in 2012. He was also part of the England team in three World Cups and two European Championships as well. He will bring a winning attitude to LA, and will hope to have the same sort of influence Steven Gerrard and David Beckham have had when they came to the Galaxy.

He didn't do much while at AS Roma as Lucas Digne came in and ended up taking Cole's place in the starting XI this season.

Cole will bring a much more defensive approach to the club as fans should not be expecting much offense from the left back.

Obviously the Galaxy are not the only team chasing after Ashley Cole's services, but according to ESPNFC they are the ones that are showing the most interest in the left back.

Overall this move could benfit the Galaxy defensively as the loss of Gonzalez will leave a big void and Cole could make that void a little smaller.
