Match Odds: Brazil -800, Haiti +2200, Draw +700 (Odds Shark)

Numbers Game: Haiti is ranked No. 74 in the world by FIFA; Brazil, is No. 7. Haiti has about 10.3 million people; Brazil’s population is 200 million. Haiti has played in one FIFA World Cup. Brazil has won five.

"I missed the national team. My last time was at the Olympics in London, and today has removed some of that longing," Ganso told the CBF's website. "I am very happy because this call-up is the recognition of my work at my club."

One of those who have been called up due to injuries is Ganso. It had been more than four years since his last call up, but fine form with Sao Paulo FC has seen him reach the peak of his powers.

Since the initial list of selected players was released a few weeks back, Brazil has had to deal with the injury bug. ÉdersonLuis GustavoKaká, Douglas Costa, Rafinha, and Ricardo Oliviera have all been replaced.

"Things have happened perhaps that are not normal, but we have to overcome the obstacles that we have," Brazil coach Dunga said. "There were changes, six players cut off, there was rain. What haven't we had here in the United States? We have to find a solution. When a problem happens you have to be ready. We hope to not have any more surprises."

On the flip side, life has been difficult for the Selecao. Having not won the Copa America since 2007, Brazil is under pressure to return to its old glory days.

"It is a very big event for us to play with the prestigious group like Brazil," Haiti coach Neveu said Tuesday. "We have the possibility of having a good result against Brazil. To say we could win would be a little pretentious, but we expect a positive result. I'm a little older. . . . I've seen the time of Pelé and others. Today, it is a different football, but still remains a precious team."

"If we win," says Jean-Marc Alexandre, "It will be the greatest miracle that God has produced in football."

While the Haitians expect to give the Brazilians a good fight, the defintley do no think they can win the match.

"For a long time Haitians have supported Brazil. I think one of the things might be that the Brazil team has always been a diverse team with more black players and mixed (race) players and of course you had Pele, Haitians could relate to them. You have a few Argentina fans but not many," Haiti midfielder Jean-Marc Alexandre said to the Associated Press.

Despite their love for their homeland, Haitians do hold a special place for Brazil in their hearts.

"This Brazil squad is still a team made up of winners, whether they are full strength or not is their problem. They drew 0-0 in their first game so we expect a very motivated Brazil," said Haiti coach Patrice Neveu.

Despite being a small and unacheiveing soccer nation, Haiti is relishing its chance to face world soccer power Brazil.

After the first matches of the group stage, here is how Group B stacks up.

A Paolo Guerrero goal allowed the Peruvians the victory on the day, but in a match that felt it could go either way.

Haiti fell 1-0 to Peru on Saturday in Seattle, and despite coming away with no points, the Haitians showed quality in their squad.

"I just saw the replay several times, and unfortunately, the referees again make a mistake in favor of the stronger team," Ecuador's head coach Gustavo Quinteros said after the match. "In fact, if the play had been on the other side, we doubt very much that the referee would have decided to invalidate that goal. So we're very angry about that. All that effort, all that work, and we get a goal taken away from us. In any case, we're very happy with the way the team played."

Ecuador's Miller Bolaños game-winning goal was denied in the 66th minute. Midway through the second half Brazil goalkeeper Alisson fumbled a cross from Miller Bolanos into his own net as he stooped to gather it at the near post. The referee mistakenly ruled that the ball went out of bounds.

Brazil are coming off a controversial loss to Ecuador last Saturday in Pasadena.

Tonight's match is genuinely pivotal for both teams. Brazil could be eliminated from the tournament with a loss and a victory for Peru in the late game tonight, while Haiti know that three points would put them in a fantastic position to be in a more respectable position.
