Lineups are out!

This game in Chicago will represent the second preseason game for both teams. Both will be looking to make adjustments after their first game back on the pitch. Milan is trying out a lot of their younger players which they hope to feature this season while Bayern looks to keep their world class players in top form heading into this year's Bundesliga season. This will be fun.

After finishing 8th last season, Milan will obviously be looking for a much better season this time around. Due to their finish in Serie A last year, Milan is going to miss European football once again. But they are determined to get back on track. A Serie A title may be out of the picture due to the dominance of Juventus but vying for a Champions League spot is not unrealistic. Napoli is now out of a top striker in Gonzalo Higuain and that will affect their campaign moving forward. That leaves Napoli with Milan, Inter, Roma, and Fiorentina as the main threats to fight for the CL spots. Outside of the expected win by Juventus, the battle for places second through sixth will be very interesting to watch in Italian football.

AC Milan got off to a bright start during their opening preseason game as well. Milan beat Ligue 1 side Bordeaux 2-1. It was Suso who gave Milan the lead early on in the game and he later added to his tally to give the Italian side a 2-0 lead. It was two goals from almost the exact same spot for Suso, who smashed both goals into the left-hand corner of the goal. Milan was able to hold off a late surge by Bordeaux who got a goal back thanks to Malcolm. The 19-year-old found himself with the ball inside the box, made a nifty turn and slid the ball just inside the right post. But it was little too late for the French club as AC Milan walked away with the win.

The game against Manchester City featured some of the Bayern starters that we are going to see this year. The likes of Franck Ribery and David Alaba featured against Manchester City for 45 minutes. Ribery impressed the most. He was good in his runs and skill moves and looked fully fit, something football fans haven’t seen in a long time. If Ribery is healthy, he will add a whole new dimension to the Bayern attack. But his arrival could also raise problems on who to start for Bayern Munich. It’s going to be either him or Douglas Costa starting on that left-hand side. Both can’t play but it’s a problem that Ancelotti will have to eventually address. But for the time being, expect Ancelotti to test how Ribery is during the preseason to see if he really is fit. He missed the Euros so he is one of the freshest players on Bayern Munich and will certainly look like the best player on the field during their preseason games.

Bayern Munich, the German Giants, already started off on the right foot with a win. They beat Manchester City and former manager Pep Guardiola 1-0 in Germany, spoiling the return of the Spaniard. It was a very tight game until Bayern broke the deadlock through Erdal Ozturk , who made his debut for the Bavarians. His shot in the 76th minute looked like it was going nowhere near the threat of goal until it took a cruel deflection off defender Gael Clichy. Manchester City backup goalkeeper Angus Gunn had no chance as he watched the ball go into the back of his own net and watched Bayern Munich take the lead. It was a good victory as Carlos Ancelotti got his first win as Bayern manager. After his dismissal from Real Madrid, the win is just not a morale boost for his club, but for the manager as well. Now he takes on the club he managed for eight years and won two Champions League titles with. It will be a reunion for Ancelotti with AC Milan

This will be the first ICC game of the year for both clubs, who have already played one preseason game prior. Both teams won their opening preseason games. But this is a time of change for both clubs and they will be hoping that a successful USA tour can help give them momentum heading into the 2016-17 season.
