On Thursday (11), Major League Soccer (MLS) held the draw for the MLS is Back Tournament groups. The championship will be in Orlando (Florida), in the United States, and will start on July 8th. Toronto FC is in Group C with Montreal Impact, New England Revolution and DC United.

“We are looking forward to getting back into games and competing. We have a tough group and the three matches will be important and have value for not only the tournament but also for the regular season. The league and players have done a nice job of making the most of a difficult situation by getting this tournament off of the ground, and there’s no better way to re-engage our fan base than a meaningful match against Montreal”, said Greg Vanney.

Orlando City was seeded because it’s the host city team. However, Toronto FC, Los Angeles FC, Seattle Sounders and Atlanta United were also seeded because they were semi-finalists last season. Real Salt Lake was seeded because they had the most points in the regular season.

All 26 teams were divided into 6 groups (A to F). Only the top two teams in each group and the top four teams in third place advance to the playoffs. The tournament winner will have a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League and receive $ 1.1 million.
