Chile and Canada return to the field next Tuesday (27). Chile faces Japan, at 07:00 am ET at the Miyagi Stadiu, while the Canadians face Great Britain, at the same time, at the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium.
With the victory, Canada reached four points in Group E. Chile, defeated, did not score. Japan and Great Britain still haven't played a game yet. Canada takes a big step towards qualifying, while Chile is in trouble but not yet eliminated.
With two goals and a missed penalty, Beckie dictated Canada's pace in the game and led her team to victory. She is a strong candidate for best player on the field.

The referee blows the whistle. End of the match for Chile and Canada in the second round of the Olympic Games. Canada gets the victory and reaches four points in Group E. Chile lose and still have no points in women's soccer.
The game becomes more lukewarm at this point. Chile tries to attack, but is stopped by the strong defense of Canada, which no longer makes so much effort to look for the third goal.
Rose is launched forward, comes face to face with Endler, dribbles, but the Chilean goalkeeper recovers and makes a great save! The throw is stopped for offside.
Chile, when they woke up in the match, managed to get to the goal to reduce the Canadian lead on the scoreboard. Now Canada is back to being better in the game.
In the first attack of the second half, Beckie gets on the attack, the defense doesn't cut it. She comes face to face with Endler, dribbles and scores a great goal. Canada 2-0.
Canada tried every way: right, left, center, high, penalty, but managed to open the score. It is a merit to the creation and the determination of the players who did not give up. They managed to open the score in the first half and the result is well deserved.
So far it has only been Canada. The North American team is not aware of the South Americans and they are on top. They missed a penalty kick, but they should have been winning the match.
Beckie takes the penalty kick on the right, gets it away from the goalkeeper, the ball hits the post and goes out for a corner kick. What a missed chance for the Canadian team!
Buchanan comes forward on the right and gets a cross, but the Chilean defense gets it away. Chile have the ball next. VAR is checking a possible penalty in the penalty area.
We had a technical problem related to the transmission of the match, but it has been solved. It's about 13 minutes into the first half and Canada is already on top of the Chilean team.

The Canadians, in turn, drew 1-1 with the hosts. The Japanese team came from behind, but tried to tie the score. Canada's goal was scored by Sinclair. Now the Canadians want to win in order to qualify.
Chile was defeated in the opening match of the Olympic Games to Great Britain. The match ended 2-0 to the British with two goals by Ellen White. Now they are looking for a comeback against the Canadians.
