Egypt coach Hossam Al Badry

"There’s nothing more important in football than qualifying for a World Cup, whether you’re a player or a coach. We’ve got a strong squad with the experience of Russia 2018 behind it, but we’re not ruling out the possibility of switching formations. It just depends on what the opposition does. Angola have totally changed their style of play with their portuguese coach. They’re a strong team, with three Premier League players and others who play in France, Portugal and Sweden. We had to choose the best squad available for these important matches against Angola and Gabon, but we can bring other players to the FIFA Arab Cup."

Egypt's Hossam El Badry is 61 years old and has called 27 players for this Fifa date, but Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) have not been released to face the Angolans because the country is on the red list in relation to the Premier League health protocol in the fight against Covid-19. The Egyptian team is still negotiating whether they will be able to travel to Gabon.
