The journey to here
Estonia fell by the wayside in the last edition of the European Championship. In the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers it only drew once and lost seven times, scoring two goals and conceding 26. It was in the same group as Germany, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland and Belarus.

The team led by Spain's Roberto Martínez advanced to the European Championship as Group B leader, eliminating Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo 1-0, and only fell in the quarterfinals to defending champion Italy.
