Otkrytie Arena (Russian: Открытие Арена), also known as Spartak Stadium (Russian: Стадион Спартак), is a soccer stadium in Moscow, Russia, owned by Spartak Moscow. The stadium was opened on September 5, 2014 and has a total capacity of 45,360 spectators all seated, with the maximum UEFA standards and for the 2018 World Cup it had a capacity of 50,000 spectators.
The stadium was built on the site of the Tushino airfield. The current design was developed by AECOM3 and Dexter Moren Associates and also features a separate indoor stadium. The main funding for the construction was provided by the club's owner, Leonid Fedun through affiliated companies such as Lukoil Company and IFD Kapital.
The stadium hosts home matches of Spartak Moscow and, occasionally, the Russian national soccer team. Announced as part of the venues for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, it hosted 3 group stage matches and the match for third place in the former tournament, plus 4 group stage matches and one round of 16 in the latter.
