Brazil does not manage to cause much danger in the attack field. They have 61% of the ball possession, but do not attack. Little arrives.

Despite the fact that only 21% of the Venezuelan population is fully vaccinated against Covid-19, Venezuela decided to release the public for this match and put about 8,000 tickets on sale. There is no information on the amount of fans present at the UCV Olympic Stadium, but until the day before the game, tickets had not been sold out.

Brazil has an excellent record against the Venezuelans. In 27 matches, there were 23 Brazilian victories, three draws and only one victory for the Vinotinto team. Venezuela's only victory was in 2008, by 2-0, also in a World Cup Qualifier (2010, in South Africa). The match was held in the United States and the Brazilian coach was Dunga. The goals were scored by Maldonado and Vargas.

In an interview for 'GE', the interim coach of Venezuela's national team tried to talk about the confrontation against Brazil and promised that the team would also attack the Brazilian team:

"We will try to enjoy this match, respecting and knowing that the opponent is tough. But we will try to attack as well. If we only defend, Brazil will create opportunities. We will try to attack, with respect, order, responsibility, but for sure we will play an intelligent match."

Venezuela will not have some of its key players for this triple round of qualifying: Savarino and Josef Martínez (injured) and Rondón (Everton-ING asked him not to report). Otero, ex-Atlético-MG and Corinthians, was in the previous list, but was left out of the final call-up.

Brazil has five starters pending with a yellow card: Thiago Silva, Gerson, Lucas Paquetá, Gabriel Jesus and Gabigol. Éder Militão (reserve) is also. Next game is against Colombia, Sunday (10), in Barranquilla.

Even with 20 points difference between the teams in the qualifying standings, Brazil did not have it easy against Venezuela in the first round. In Morumbi, in November 2020, the Canarinha won only, by 1-0. In the opening game of this year's Copa América, the score was different: a 3-0 victory.

The number 10 and main player of the Brazilian team, Neymar is out of the duel against Venezuela because he is suspended. The defensive midfielder Casemiro is another one who will not play, he was withdrawn due to inflammation of the tooth. In place of the midfielder, Douglas Luiz has been called to report and play for Brazil.
