The second round of the African Football Confederation qualifiers for Qatar 2022 consists of a group stage, in which 40 countries compete, which are divided into ten sectors.

Each team must face its three opponents on a reciprocal basis; subsequently, the leaders of each group will advance to the third and final stage, which will determine the five representatives of the African zone for the World Cup.
