Seattle Sounders
Seattle Sounders leads the MLS Western Conference, winning 17 of the 31 matches played, drawing seven and losing seven. With 54 goals scored and 34 conceded, they have a goal difference of 20 goals and a total of 58 units. Brian Schmetzer has provided his team with great soccer and solid continuity. After the match against the Vancouver Whitecaps, the coach stated: "We are in first place; I think we have shown all year that we deserve to be there. You know Jordan Morris and Stefan Frei were out for a good while, we suffered injury losses in the depth of the squad with players like Jordy Delem and other guys throughout the campaign, and in the end we overcame a lot of adversity this cycle and managed to stay at the top[...] "This (qualification) is a huge achievement and shows the level that this club expects of itself."

LAFC
Los Angeles FC are in ninth place in the MLS Western Conference. With eleven wins, eight draws and twelve losses, Bob Bradley's team needs to win their remaining three games and hope for a couple of combinations in the conference results in order to qualify for the playoffs. This season was far from being as outstanding as that 2019 season where they dominated MLS. As for the Mexican Carlos Vela, injuries have prevented him from being in most of the games and of the 17 games in which he has played he has only been able to score on 5 occasions, however he still remains the team's all-time leading scorer with 67 goals. The Mexican would be finishing his contract this year and it is speculated that he may leave the team to return to the Old Continent.
