Betis Statements

Manuel Pellegrini spoke ahead of the match against Valencia: "There has never been any anxiety to think big since I've been here. We have to have the mental capacity and optimism to think long term. We have to have ambition, not for the future, but for the present. We are in a competitive moment that we must try to extend. We'll see where we are at the end of the year".

"Betis generates illusion by game and results, but every game is a different challenge".

"It was a joy to see the stadium like this. The greater the support from the stands, the better the team feels. Between all of us we have to try, game after game, to keep moving forward."

"Just because it comes from a streak doesn't imply that it will keep it up. They are a good team with players of a high level, we have to keep playing as we have been doing so far, trying to improve. In recent times they have not been at the level expected, but in the first few games they were at the top of the table. We are going to face a difficult Valencia. We are going to have to play an intense match with a lot of quality".

"All the players are fit to play three games in a row. We have alternatives. In the case of the central defenders, it was complicated. Edgar served five yellow cards, but there are no problems at all."

"Now Víctor Ruiz, Bartra and Germán Pezzella are fit to play so there is no problem at all."

"That doesn't take away our obligation to win tomorrow. They are data, but more than numbers what is important is that the team is focused and is generating ambitions regarding their game."
