News from Reims

For Reims, central defender Yunis Abdelhamid and creative midfielder Valon Berisha are back from one game suspensions and will compete to start tonight, while goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic, who has recorded the most clean sheets in Ligue 1 in 2021 with fourteen, he is ready to play again under the sticks.

Fode Doucoure, Marshall Munetsi and Fraser Hornby are suffering from muscle problems, while Arber Zeneli continues to recover from an ACL injury.

Mathieu Cafaro has doubts due to the illness, although he is not expected to start today in midfield ahead of Azor Matusiwa, Moreto Cassama or Dion Lopy anyway.

News from Marseille

Marseille are currently in good health, so coach Jorge Sampaoli will have a fully fit team to choose from tonight.

After hitting a hat-trick over the weekend, Milik hopes he has done enough to keep his spot as a starter in attack, joining 34-year-old captain Dimitri Payet, who has provided fourteen assists, more than any other player in Ligue 1 so far this season.

Sampaoli is expected to draw on several of his first-team regulars who did not play in the starting lineup on Sunday, and players such as Pau López, William Saliba, Duje Caleta-Car and Boubacar Kamara are expected to start today.

Key player of Reims

El Bilal Touré is a Malian forward center with a very good physique thanks to his 1.8 height. He is very fast and has a good reading of the area to appear where the play requires him. He mobilizes well outside of his normal range where he can bring different heights to his team's attack. He uses his body well to win duels against rival defenders. He is decisive within the area and has a speed in execution that makes him an unexpected weapon for the rival.

Key player of Marseille

Dimitri Payet is a fast player, technically very talented and dribble expert, he is able to kick excellently with both feet. During his career, he has proven to be a skilled assistant and an excellent marksman. His versatility on the field has made him a very versatile player, he can play as a midfielder on the left, left midfielder, central midfielder and left winger. Being this last position the one that dominates the most within the field of play.

And without a doubt, his specialty is set pieces: direct free kicks. With a privileged strike with the right leg, the ball, almost always, is directed to the nets of the rival goalkeeper.

This is how Reims arrives

Reims managed to overtake their sixth division city rivals Reims Sainte-Anne in the Coupe de France when they posted a 1-0 away win in the third round last weekend. The team appeared to be heading for a disappointing goalless draw, until a goal in the 89th minute by 18-year-old midfielder Martin Adeline snatched the victory from the visitors, to qualify for the round of 32 for the first time in three years.

Oscar García Junyent's men have won four of their last five matches in all competitions, including a 2-0 home win against Saint-Etienne in their most recent league match, a win that brought them three points behind the top ten and crucially seven points above the relegation zone.

Reims have scored five points out of a possible nine in their last three games in Marseille, including last season's 1-1 draw in December. The Rouges et Blancs have won three of their last four Ligue 1 games, and they will come out motivated to get another positive result at the Orange Vélodrome tonight.

This is how Marseille arrives

Marseille avoided an embarrassing loss in the Coupe de France last weekend when they came back to beat fifth division Cannet Rocheville 4-1 at the Stade Velodrome. Mike Core gave the visitors a surprise lead in the 16th minute; however, a hat-trick by Arkadiusz Milik and a shot by Luis Henrique helped the hosts advance to the round of 32.

Sampaoli's men have won their last three matches in all competitions, including their last Ligue 1 match in Strasbourg, which has kept them second in the overall table. However, they have only won one of their last eight top flight matches at home against Reims, in a tight 1-0 victory in May 2016.

Something to note is that Sampaoli's Marseille have conceded just 14 goals in their 17 Ligue 1 games this season, their lowest record at this stage of a season in the top flight since 1998-99, when they allowed 13, and also he has recorded nine clean sheets in the competition.
