This is Guinea's starting eleven for today's game:

Charles Petro and Mark Fodya of Malawi have tested positive for COVID-19 and will not participate in today's match.

However, Richard Mbulu, who had also tested positive for COVID-19 previously, has now been cleared to join the rest of the team and will be at the disposal of coach Kaba Diawara.

RB Leipzig midfielder Ilaix Moriba featured in his first Guinea game last time out against Rwanda and is one to keep an eye on.

With nine goals in 17 Ligue 1 outings so far, Mohamed Bayo is expected to lead the line despite only making his debut last year.

Guinea and Malawi will both be looking to get off to a winning start in the Africa Cup of Nations when they lock horns at the Kouekong Stadium on Sunday.

Khuda Ike Muyaba is a Malawian footballer who plays as a forward for Polokwane City and the Malawi national team. He became top scorer in the 2019 Malawi Super League with 19 goals.

Ibrahima Cissé is a midfielder who plays for Seraing. Born in Belgium, Cissé represents the Guinea national soccer team.

Cissé was born in Belgium and is of Guinean descent. He previously was a youth international with Belgium. However, he pledged international allegiance to Guinea in March 2018.

On April 25, 2018, Cissé accepted an invitation to represent the Guinea soccer team. He made his professional debut for Guinea in a 1-0 win in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying over the Central African Republic on September 9, 2018.

After failing to participate in the last five editions of the African Cup of Nations, Malawi was desperate to qualify for this edition of the tournament and did so after having earned 10 points in the qualifying.

The Flames have had an embarrassing and regrettable streak of just one win in the subsequent 11 games, preventing them from qualifying for the next round of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Dreaming of their first continental title, Meke Mwase's men go in search of an opening victory in the group stage and thus set the tone for the rest of the competition. Having never reached the knockout stages in any of their previous appearances at this tournament, the East Africans will be looking to break that drought and make history.

Guinea culminated its preparations for this edition of the African Cup of Nations by beating Rwanda in an international friendly on Thursday. Mohamed Bayo and captain Naby Keita scored in the first 45 minutes to secure a well-deserved victory for Kaba Diawara's men.

This result ended a seven-match winless streak for Syli Nationale, who hopes to use the win as a turning point as they prepare for a fruitful tournament in Cameroon. In his first match of the group stage, he will face a team that has won only one of the previous six matches between them.

Bafoussam Omnisports Stadium, also known as Kouekong Stadium, is a multipurpose stadium in Kouekong, a suburb of Bafoussam I, Cameroon.

It is mainly used for soccer games and also has athletic facilities. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people. It was built in 2015 and inaugurated on April 30, 2016. It also hosted some matches during the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
