Nigeria goal
30' Moses Simon crosses from the left and Hegazy makes a partial cut. Joe Aribo controls the ball on the edge of the box and plays it to Iheanacho. Iheanacho's cross is picked out by Iheanacho, who shoots the ball into the left corner of El-Shenawy's net to open the scoring.
Close
25' Joe Aribo makes a good run down the middle and opens up for Moses Simon on the left. The striker dominates the area and shoots, but hits the outside of the net.
Panorama
20' Nothing really to report from this opening 20 minutes, apart from the fact that two balls have now been replaced as they are too flat. The game's been similar. And for those looking for a Mohamed Salah update, he's a bit isolated through the middle here for Egypt, with Nigeria's centre-halves giving him little room to manoeuvre when the ball gets near him.
Good match
15' Egypt breaks quickly and there's no surprise that captain and talisman Mohamed Salah is at the centre of it. The ball breaks to the Liverpool man on the half-way line and he tries to release Trezeguet for a one-on-one. Salah forces the Aston Villa man slightly wide, but Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is out quickly too clear.
El Shenawy makes a save
12' A first real foray forward from Nigeria sees them win a corner on the right. Samuel Chukwueze gets two bites to deliver a ball in, but Egypt goalkeeper Mohammed El Shenawy gets out well to stop him.
Egypt substitution
11' Tawfik out, Abdelmonein in.
Okoye makes the save
11' First chance for Mohamed Salah to stretch is legs as he tries to get on Ahmed Fattoh's ball in behind, but goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is out quickly to clear.
Egypt on attack
5' First shot of the game sees Mostafa Mohamed burst down the right and slam a shot into the near post, but Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye makes a safe stop. Quite cagey start to this game, it's like a boxing match where the two competitors are just eyeing each other up and the moment, without making too much of a venture forward.
Tactical
3' Mohamed Salah appears to be playing in a center-forward role for Egypt this afternoon with Omar Marmoush on the left and Mostafa Mohamed on the right. Aston Villa's Trezeguet is in midfield. It's Nigeria who are taking the front foot now by pressing Egypt high and earning a corner, which is cleared.
