News from Birmingham City

The Blues, meanwhile, are winless in their last five league games, leaving Lee Bowyer's side nine points above the relegation zone.

Scott Hogan should be the starting striker in Birmingham's attack, rather than Lukas Jutkiewicz, and with the recent arrival on loan of Onel Hernandez the team now has better movement in the final third of the pitch.

George Friend is available after suspension and should return to the starting eleven, allowing Kristian Pedersen to move into the left-back role. Ryan Woods can also get the nod in central midfield with Ivan Sunjic, who is likely to start on the bench tonight.

12:27 PM4 months ago

News from Fulham

Fulham will play host to Birmingham City tonight with a chance to move five points clear at the top of the EFL Championship standings.

Barring injuries or Covid19 coronavirus issues, coach Marco Silva is unlikely to make any changes to Fulham's starting line-up.

Although the Cottagers scored twice against Bristol City, the likes of Denis Odoi and Michael Hector are expected to remain on the bench to rest them.

He entered non-league football, playing for Woodley Sports, FC Halifax Town, Mossley, Stocksbridge Park Steels, Ashton United and Hyde before returning to Rochdale. He scored 17 goals in 2013-14, which led to Brentford signing him in July 2014, and since then he has been unable to establish himself regularly after spells with different teams.

Birmingham City

The team arrives in 18th position in the EFL Championship, consolidation is now a priority for Bowyer and his Blues squad, who have just one win from their last 10 games in all competitions.

After losing to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup, the team looked better by earning a 1-1 draw on Saturday at Preston North End, taking a much-needed step in the right direction. Top scorer Scott Hogan scored his first goal in over two months at Deepdale, taking his tally this season to seven goals in 22 games.

The clubs met twice during the opening weeks of the 2021-22 season, Fulham recording a 2-0 win at St Andrew's in the Carabao Cup, and subsequently taking a 4-1 win at the same ground in the Championship.

Fulham

Fulham have repeatedly frustrated their supporters this season, putting together two runs of disappointing results that have undermined their overall brilliance. However, Marco Silva's side now appear to be back at their best, the Cottagers notably scoring 13 times during wins over Reading and Bristol City.

While neither of their recent opponents are the best the EFL Championship has to offer, Fulham were ruthless on both occasions and the goals were spread amongst their talented forward line. Aleksandar Mitrovic now has 27 goals and seven assists, a monumental effort from the Serb, while Harry Wilson now has eight goals and 10 assists.

However, just two points clear of Bournemouth, coach Silva knows the hard work will continue for the remainder of the season in the EFL Championship, albeit against opponents he has already beaten twice this campaign.

11:32 AM4 months ago

The match will be played at Craven Cottage

Craven Cottage is a football stadium located in Fulham, west London. It has been the home of the Fulham club since 1896. The stadium's capacity is now 19,359, following the closure of the Riverside Stand for refurbishment in the 2019 season. The record attendance is 49,335, for a game against Millwall, October 8, 1938.

Located next to Bishop's Park on the banks of the River Thames, Craven Cottage was originally a royal hunting lodge and has a history stretching back over 300 years.

In addition to Fulham, the stadium has also been used by the United States, Australia, Republic of Ireland, and Canada national soccer teams, and was previously the home ground of the Fulham RLFC rugby league team.
