There will be no away goals, nor extra time (except for the final), the decisive tie-breaking factor will be based on the standings.
WHAT WILL THE NEW PLAYOFF CONSIST OF?
The new playoff will be played in a different format than in previous editions of Liga MX, this time only 4 teams will qualify: from 7th to 10th place in the general table and the number of direct quarterfinal qualification places will be increased from 1st to 6th place. The playoff qualifiers will play in a first vs. second format, i.e. 7th vs. 8th and 9th vs. 10th. The winner of the first match advances to the quarterfinals; the loser will face the winner of the second series to define the last playoff qualifier.
THE PLAYOFFS ARE APPROACHING
