Genoa does not enjoy better luck, and begins the day penultimate in the SERIE A standings. New coach Alexander Blessin has at least solidified his defence, with two goalless draws in his first three games (E3), but the team has only scored once in the last five SERIE A games, so it is clear from why the oldest club in Italy has not won a league game since September 12 (E12, Q10).
Indeed, with just one league win so far, this is Genoa's worst winning record in history at this point in a campaign in Italy's top flight, though there is a sign of hope for away fans. , is that this only win was achieved playing away from home (G1, E6, P6). If Genoa want to add a second win to that tally they will surely need to do a good job in the first half, as five of their six away defeats this SERIE A season saw them go into half-time trailing.

With the long historical rivalry between these two cities, this Serie A match between Venezia and Genoa will be marked by the struggle of both to achieve permanence, so the emotion will surely not be absent. Venezia beat Torino in their last presentation in SERIE A by 2-1, thus registering their first victory after ten games without winning (E3, P7), with which Serie A could be removed from the relegation zone although they remain level on points with Cagliari.
To avoid falling again, the team needs to improve its historical records against Genoa, since Venezia only won six of 31 official games against its rival (E10, L15), and drew in the first meeting between the two this season (0-0). For starters, Venezia should break their habit of conceding the first goal at home, which they have done in their last five league home games (D2, L3).

The game will played at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo

Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo is a multi-use stadium in Venice, Italy. It is the largest sports facility in Venice and the home ground of Venezia F.C. The stadium was first opened in 1913 and takes its name from World War I pilot Pier Luigi Penzo.

Originally constructed from wood, the stadium was largely upgraded with a concrete main stand in the 1920s and further improvements were made in the decades that followed. The record attendance of 26,000 was for a football match in 1966, a Serie A match against A.C. Milan.

On 11 September 1970, a tornado hit Venice and caused extensive damage to the stadium. Due to the club's decline the stadium was only partially reinstated, and the capacity was reduced to just over 5,000 and then increased again to 15,000 in 1998.

The club's return to the Serie A in 2021 prompted it to begin redevelopment of the stadium over the summer.

Situated on the far eastern edge of Venice, the stadium is notable as it is easily accessible by boat

It is the second-oldest continually used stadium in Italy (the oldest being Genoa's Stadio Luigi Ferraris)
