Letter sent to Congress
Soccer was left aside in the match against Uruguay. Gregg Berhalter's team took advantage of the spotlight to ask the government for a change due to the shootings that occur daily in a nation that spills the blood of innocents.
For this reason, the Stars and Stripes sent a letter to Congress in which they asked to stop gun violence. The team asked members of Congress to vote for gun control legislation to stop the violence.
"First of all, soccer aside, I'm very proud of the group for the letter they sent asking Congress to act. A lot of times it's very easy to go about our business and forget about what's going on in the world, and this group didn't do that. You see the orange bands, the letter. You know, we're all fed up," said the strategist.
A stroke of authority
The United States National Team will always remember the day when the new generation won its first title against Mexico, its hated historical rival.
This happened on June 6, 2021, when they faced the Mexicans at Empower Field at Mile High in the city of Denver, Colorado, in the Concacaf Nations League Final, winning 3-2 against the Tricolor.
