The match between the Cañoneros and the Xolos is being played in Mazatlán, the same land where Gabriel Caballero's team has played its friendly games.

We are minutes away from the start of the friendly match between Mazatlan and Xolos de Tijuana.

In one week Mazatlan will release its uniform and will give a concert with La banda el recodo, to the delight of its fans.

70% of the people who had Xolos vouchers last season have already renewed them for the next season, so Tijuana is expected to have great tickets for its home games.

Alexis Canelo and Kevin Castañeda will be Ricardo Valiño's new reinforcements for the upcoming tournament, as they will arrive as part of the exchange they made with the Diablos Rojos del Toluca.

Bryan Angulo and Marcel Ruiz were confirmed as Xolos de Tijuana's casualties in the last few hours, as they will be playing for the Diablos Rojos del Toluca next season.

Next Saturday Mazatlan will welcome Club Atletico La Paz to its stadium for a friendly cup game, which will serve as preparation for the upcoming tournament.

Mazatlán will debut on July 1 at home against La Franja of Puebla at 9:00 p.m., while Xolos of Tijuana will debut two days later, as visitors, at the home of Pumas of UNAM.

In spite of everything, there have been few movements on the border, although Ever Rubio has arrived from Santos of Costa Rica, Nicolás Díaz from Mazatlán, Francisco Contreras from Ciudad Juárez and Rodrigo Godínez from Leones Negros, in addition to the arrival of Ricardo Valiño as technical director.

Other departures include Gil Alcalá to Pumas UNAM, as well as coach Sebastián Méndez due to personal problems.

At the moment Mazatlán does not have any official new players, although they did manage to renew Marco Fabián for one more year.

Some of the departures include Jesús Zavala, Richard Ríos, Jorge Zárate, Gonzalo Freitas, Nicolás Díaz and Iván Moreno.

The Cañoneros announced that they will play their preparation matches behind closed doors, so the public will have to wait until the game against Puebla in July to see them again.

The Xolos de Tijuana stopped being a leading team to be among the last in the general table as well as in the relegation, so they will try to get back on track for this Apertura 2022 and return to being the club they were when they reached the First Division.

Mazatlán's mission for the next tournament will be to make a leap in quality and, although they have already qualified for their first relegation in their history, their mission will be to qualify directly for the big party in Mexican soccer. They have just defeated Cimarrones de Sonora and Dorados de Sinaloa, both teams from the Liga de Expansion MX.

The Mazatlan vs Tijuana match will be played at the Kraken Stadium, in Sinaloa, Mexico. The kick-off is scheduled at 11:00 am ET.
