David Medrano, a journalist for TV Azteca, revealed that the red-and-black Atlas already had a contract with Barcelona to play the 2022 edition of the Joan Gamper, a match that Pumas will now play.
Medrano assured that the reason why this match did not take place was because of the MLS All-Star Game, in which Liga MX is involved. The Rojinegros, by regulation, have to give up the players called up for that game. 

The Toluca Red Devils started off on the right foot in the tournament, so they have another piece of good news, Haret Ortega returned to training after suffering a knee injury at the beginning of the preseason.

Therefore, access will be prohibited to the Club Atlas Cheerleading Group for their next home game (Day 3 Atlas vs. Cruz Azul)," was informed about the foul provoked by the Atlas cheerleaders.

Toluca's DT, Ignacio Ambríz assured that Mexicans who arrive in Europe have high prices and end up not adapting.

"It's not that the Mexican player is making a mistake, I think he wants to go (to Europe), I think that at times the price of the player is also very expensive and then adapting to European soccer is not easy," said Nacho.

Juan Pablo González, a Toluca youth player, has returned to France to train with Lyon in search of an opportunity to stay in European soccer. 
According to French media L'Équipe, the 18-year-old forward will train with the N2 team for three weeks to try to convince scouts.
