Juan Martin Del Potro has essentially been out of the ATP circuit since February last year, when he left the Dubai Tennis Championships with a wrist injury. Since then, he has undertaken one surgery on his right wrist and three surgeries on his left wrist, but has failed to make a marked comeback on tour without facing any trouble.

It has now been more than six months since he has played a match on tour as the Argentinian continues his rehabilitation plans. After spending time in his home city of Tandil, he has now shifted to Miami to go on with rehabilitation and training, and is assuring his fans that he is doing everything in his power to make it back on tour.

"If you think I'm down and out, I want you to know I'm still fighting for it," Del Potro tweeted on Tuesday, alongside a picture of him exercising on a Miami beach. He also tweeted out, "Finishing this week's training. Very motivated for what's coming. Have a great weekend!!" a few days prior.

The road to an injury free comeback has been an extremely difficult one for the former world number four, who has now dropped to below 500 in the rankings. Not only does he have himself to worry about, but he now also requires a new backbone in terms of a support team, after separating from long time coach Franco Davin and physical trainer Martiniano Orazi earlier this year.

However, he seems to be more motivated than ever to return, and recently has been found on the courts Miami courts using his wrist to hit balls, suggesting he has moved on from resting to getting to a more penultimate stage of recovery. He will hope to get through this tough period and hone his skills once again to make a full comeback as a fully fit player in early 2016.
