Conchita Martinez, a former Grand Slam champion and currently taking the reins of both Spain's Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams and the Spaniard is back in charge of the Davis Cup team and she is preparing her team for the clash with Romania.

Spain are not fielding their strongest team by any means but they have eight singles players ranked inside the top 50 and it is a reasonably strong team to get the job done against Romania.

Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreno Busta and the French Open champions Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez have all been selected to represent their nation.

Martinez acknowledges that Spain are without 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal and former world number three David Ferrer but she trusts her players' abilities and believes they will get the victory.

"The good thing of Spain is that we have a lot of players that can be in several teams and they all are very strong, we do not depend on Rafa Nadal or David Ferrer."

Martinez continued, "I'm confident that players will try their best on court, we know how to play on this surface and we have to think only about winning."
