The entry list for the 2016 Copa Colsanitas has been released today, with some players returning to Bogota after previously entering the tournament. Nine current top 100 players are scheduled to play.

Defending Champ Returns

The most notable player returning to the clay tournament that starts on April 11th is Brazilian Teliana Pereira. She won her maiden WTA title at this tournament last year. Pereira also became the first Brazilian in 27 years to win a WTA singles title with that victory. 015 runner-up Yaroslava Shvedova has not entered this year.

Elina Svitolina is another high-profile star returning and is the highest ranked play entered for the tournament. The Ukrainian was the top seed at the tournament last year, reaching the semifinals, before losing to Pereira in straight sets.

The home crowd will have someone to cheer with Mariana Duque-Marino set to play. The Colombian made her professional debut at this tournament back in 2005. She lost in the second round of qualifying that year, but won her only career title to date at the tournament back in 2010. She defeated the then little-known Angelique Kerber for the title.

Several Americans Will Participate

America is set to be well represented in Bogota. Varvara Lepchenko is the highest-ranked American in the draw. She is followed by Christina McHale, Irina Falconi, Lauren Davis and Anna Tatishvili in the draw.

Several WTA veterans are set to compete for the title as well with players such as Lourdes Dominguez Lino and Tatjana Maria entered in the draw. Several potential future stars will also be in action with Jana Cepelova, Lara Arruabarrena and Patricia Maria Tig also entering the Bogota draw.

There will be 32 players in the singles draw in Bogota with the winner gaining 280 ranking points and $43,000 in prize money.
