Noam Dar is a name known to the majority of British wrestling fans and now gets the chance to make his name known in America.

One of British wrestling’s top prospects gets to bring his unique style to a significantly bigger audience in the United States, with fans hoping that he can capitalise on the chance and turn it into more appearances on WWE television.

Dar qualified for WWE's Global Cruiserweight Tournament after he beat Josh Bodom via Submission at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Live at the Cockpit 8 event. He follows Zack Sabre jr and Jack Gallagher as British wrestling representatives in the Global Cruiserweight Tournament

Noam dedicated the match and win to Kris Travis, a British wrestler who lost his battle with cancer earlier this year. Travis was a friend to many on the WWE roster, notably Kevin Owens and impacted many on the British wrestling circuit and across the world.

An interesting tournament line up

The WWE Global Cruiserweight Tournament is already setting up to showcase a variety of styles and wrestlers from across the globe. Noam Dar is known to dedicated wrestling fans, especially in Great Britain but he may not be known to those in America.

Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and Zack Sabre jr are regulars on the American independent circuit, with Ciampa and Gargano working for NXT on a regular basis in the past few months.

Lesser known names such as Lince Dorado and Ho Ho Lun have been touted as good in ring performers by WWE Superstars but fans have to do a good amount of searching to find footage of them.

More names to be announced

The WWE still has a number of names to announce for the tournament and has quietly been adding a number of independent wrestlers in the past few weeks.

Puerto Rican independent wrestler Mr 450 has been added to the tournament while rumours still surround Kota Ibushi’s involvement. Ibushi was shown at ringside during the NXT Takeover: Dallas event and was noted to be a top Cruiserweight by the commentary team.

William Regal and Canyon Ceman are still on the look out for competitors to add. Fans should get more details in the upcoming weeks.
