It has been over two weeks since CM Punk was humbled inside the octagon with the situation regarding his MMA career still up in the air.

The 37-year-old is rumored to be one of the first names cut from UFC shortly but there are a few that have called for him to remain a part of the fighting promotion.

The future of Punk is one of the hottest questions being asked within the fighting world although the paths which were once open may now be closed following his loss to Gall.

Despite his loss, there was still positives to take from his appearance, including his huge pay from the event which could rise to over $1 million.

However, according to Joe Rogan, the options for Punk now are limited with him already competing at a professional standard, he is 'unable to drop down to amateur'.

The veteran was outclassed and out-thought against the young but experienced Gall and one of his past opponents has offered his services to the former WWE Champion.

Mike 'The Truth' Jackson was the man the 24-year-old beat in order to have the opportunity to face Punk and he has put himself forward to be the former professional wrestler's next MMA opponent.

So with the veteran unable to step down and battle performers near his ability level he may find it necessary to take on opponents that he has a chance to beat with Jackson suffering a defeat to Gall quicker than he actually did.

As for Punk himself, the likelihood is that he will want to train for a lot longer without injuries holding him back, but for now, he is still in recovery mode with his injuries still not fully healed.

With no pressure on him to be ready to take on any opponents as of yet, he will be able to hone his craft and ability without an end date to be ready for.

There have been suggestions that he will drop down a level to promotion Bellator and the door is said to have been left open to him should he want to make the switch.

The humbleness that he showed in defeat to Gall showed how he has taken positives from his loss that he could possibly use in his advantage in his next fight should one occur.
