Kota Ibushi has revealed details of his status with WWE and for those who are fans of the Golden Star, it might not be what you want to hear. Ibushi was speaking to the media recently and revealed that he hasn't signed an official WWE contract, going as far as to say there is "zero chance" of him doing so, despite competing in the CWC and now being scheduled to be involved with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Ibushi isn't interested

Despite Ibushi insisting he won't be joining the company it isn't for a lack of trying on the WWE's behalf. The company arranged to meet Ibushi and offered him a "full-time contract" the cruiserweight revealed, however, Ibushi claimed he only turned up to the meeting to "say no" even though WWE tried "all sorts of different directions and contract suggestions."

The move permanently to work withing WWE's bubble just doesn't seem to entice Ibushi, he admitted that when he flew in to perform at the CWC he thought it would "suck" but it "didn't." However, even though he enjoyed his time working in the tournament that he reached the semi-final of, the "thought of wrestling in that kind of circumstance and environment" wasn't "best" for him, hence why he hasn't agreed a deal.

Ibushi did say that he has "no problem" flying out to places to compete for special matches and tournaments, which is exactly what he saw the CWC as, a one-off situation, and he is doing exactly the same with his appearances on NXT. But whether they remain to be a semi-regular thing or this is simply a final bow for the Golden Star under the WWE spotlight remains to be seen.

Even though the offer was clearly flattering and it is plainly obvious the company see's him in high regards Ibushi insisted that he doesn't "wrestle for money" and the WWE Universe's dream of seeing him on the main roster will have to wait for another day.
