Watford have announced on their website the signature of Jose Manuel Jurado, a Spanish attacking midfielder. He becomes summer signing number nine for the Hornets, following their promotion to the Premier League.

After reporting that that Jurado was set to sign for Watford last week, the move has now been officially announced with the Spaniard putting pen to paper with a three-year contract.

Jurado will once again work under current Watford head coach Quique Sanchez Flores, as he did when he played for Atletico Madrid.

The midfielder has a wealth of experience in Europe's top divisions having played in La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Russian Premier division. The 29 year old can now add playing in the Premier League to his already impressive CV.

Jurado has linked up with his new team mates, with the club already posting an interview with him.

Good signing for the Hornets?

The signature of Jurado has been greeted with much optimism by Watford fans.

His experience in top leagues could prove useful as the Hornets get ready for a challenging Premier League season. In addition, it shouldn't take him too long to adapt given that he already knows the head coach and has experience in many different leagues already.

The Spaniard is also quite suited to the formation Sanchez Flores wants to use at Watford. The 4-2-3-1 that the new head coach has employed should fit Jurado quite well, given his position and one would think that he would play in the centre of the three attacking midfielders.

More still to come?

The club's owners, the Pozzo's, have not wasted any time in this transfer window. With nine signings already completed and reports suggesting that there is still more to come.

Newspapers have stated that the Hertfordshire club's signing of Steven Berhuis and Lex Immers from the Eredivisie is imminent.
