NEW ZEALAND 1ST INNINGS

The players are out to sing their national anthems.

Two changes then for Pakistan with Mohammed Hafeez and Wahab Riaz out and replaced by Imad Wasim and Khalid Latif. The Black Caps are unchanged for a third game running. Big game for both sides. Who will come out on top? Stay tuned.

Pakistan team: Shehzad, Sharjeel, Latif, Akmal, Malik, Sarfraz, Afridi (c), Imad, Amir, Sami, Irfan

New Zealand team: Guptill, Williamson (c), Munro, Anderson, Taylor, Elliott, Santner, Ronchi, Milne, McClenaghan, Sodhi

New Zealand have won the toss and will bat first!

Here comes the toss from Mohali!

Both teams have a number of match-winners but there are players in the team that really help the team get through most matches. Kane Williamson is the key player for New Zealand now he has taken over the captaincy from Brendon McCullum as he is a really class batsmen that knows how to play well in all conditions. So far in the competition, he has failed to make a big score but when it comes to the crunch matches expect him to be the man to step up under pressure. Ahmed Shehzad is the one to watch at the top of the order for Pakistan with how quickly he can score and get the team of to perfect starts. There is a fitness doubt over Mohammed Hafeez ahead of the game and that means Shehzad becomes even more important for the team.

These two teams are no strangers to each other as they played in a three-match series back in January in New Zealand where the Black Caps came out on top winning 2-1. The pitch at Mohali is set to have a green top so it should suit both sides with the possible inclusion of Tim Southee and Trent Boult being brought into the team by New Zealand who have yet to play so far in the tournament. Pakistan also have the bowlers who the pitch will suit with left-armers Mohammed Amir and Wahab Riaz who like the swinging conditions and will cause any team problems.

In terms of T20 rankings, New Zealand are sitting third in the rankings while Pakistan are in seven position. These rankings are all really close but the main thing is how the teams will handle the pressure of winning the competition. Pakistan have been there and won the competition before in 2009. The Black Caps, on the other hand, haven't won the competition yet but with how they have started this years competition, they will be confident of going all the way and lifting the trophy.

So far in Group 2 New Zealand have won both of their games against India by 47 runs and against Australia by 8 runs to leave them in a fantastic position to qualify with two games to go. Pakistan started their competition with a big win against Bangladesh by 55 runs but faltered against their big rivals India in their last game losing by six wickets to leave them in need of a win in their third game.

This match is the sixth match of Group 2 and it's a massive game in terms of both teams chances of qualifying for the semi-finals. New Zealand are leading the way in the group having won both of their matches so far while Pakistan have won one and lost one of their two matches. The black caps are probably slight favourites for the game due to them being in good form and how the men in green are very inconsistent but on their day they can beat anyone.

Good afternoon, all! Hello, and Welcome to VAVEL UK's live ball-by-ball commentary of this World T20 Group 2 clash, between New Zealand and Pakistan.
