Australia will take on India tomorrow in what will be the deciding fixture in the race for the last semi-final qualification spot. It will be Australia and India's final game in this World T20 Super 10 Stage and is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm GMT at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
For Australia it is a chance to put some very close matches behind them and show themselves as serious contenders for this World T20 trophy. The Australians will be full of confidence following a dominating victory over Pakistan having put their poor performance against Bangladesh behind them.
India desperately needs this game to go their way, not only to secure their qualification but also to finally give their home supporters something to cheer. India have had a very poor tournament so far, suffering defeat to New Zealand and struggling to overcome Bangladesh, they will be buoyed however following a very confident performance against local rivals Pakistan.
Australia and India's last T20 series between the two sides was as recent as January 2016. The series was a rout for India as they whitewashed Australia 3-0 in their own backyard with the tourists displaying some very impressive performances.
In normal circumstances you'd say an Indian team in home conditions, who have such a good record against Australia, would easily be favourites. However, in this World T20 India have struggled with the conditions almost as much as the visiting sides.
In any side, Glenn Maxwell will always be a star attraction and his national side is no different. The spinning all-rounder is always capable of producing star-studded innings that can take a game away from any side. His inventive stroke play and immense hitting power make him a nightmare for any bowler. Combined with economic off-spin, the all-rounder is a captain's dream.
No matter who is in this Indian side a lot of expectation will always fall on the shoulders of MS Dhoni. The wicket-keeper batsman has always played a consistent part in India's fortunes. A consistent anchor in the Indian batting unit, the keeper has still proved he is extremely able behind the stumps. Dhoni still has lightning hands and is capable of some mind-blowingly quick stumpings.
