Dario Cataldo has agreed a two year deal with Team Sky leaving Belgian outfit Omega Pharma-Quick-Step
The 27 year old has enjoyed a successful season which saw him finish 12th in the Giro D'Italia and win the toughest stage of this year's Vuelta a Espana.
A good all-rounder Cataldo is the reigning Italian national time trial champion as well an accomplished climber.
He will add strength to Sky's stage racing team providing support for the likes of Chris Froome and Bradley Wiggins.
But he is more than a domestique and is tipped by some as a potential grand tour contender himself.
