Tottenham have found themselves in the hunt for strikers in the upcoming transfer market, most recently being linked to Club America striker, Christian Benitez. The Ecuadorian forward has previously had a spell in the Premier League, with Birmingham in 2009. Benitez flopped in the Premier League, but has since won the Liga MX top scorer award three times.

"There could be a good offer for Christian from Tottenham" Club America President, Ricardo Pelaez

Club America president, Ricardo Pelaez, has admitted "There could be a good offer for Christian from Tottenham. I've spoken to him and he wants to return to Europe. We wont clip his wings if we get an offer that suits us. Of course there are bids for him, he has been the league's top scorer three times after all. He is a great guy and a magnificent player. He is under contract but we'll look to see what is the best option."

His goalscoring ability in Mexico hasnt gone unnoticed, with Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas reportedly ready to make a £9 million bid to secure his services. This may be a risky move from Spurs, as Benitez scored only 3 times in 30 Premier League appearance for Birmingham City.
