With plans to sign 2 new strikers before the summer transfer window closes, Newcastle United's youth star is set to be loaned out to further his development. Having been named Most Valuable Player in the Manchester United Nike Premier Cup in 2010 and 2nd Best Player at the 2012 Milk Cup, Adam Campbell has come a long way in a short span of time. Campbell is the youngest player to ever play for Newcastle in the Tyneside club's European competition history, after breaking the previous record(Andy Carroll) when, aged 17 years 236 days, he came on against Greek side Atromitos in a UEFA Europa League Qualification Playoff.

With 3 senior level appearances under his belt at the age of 18, the future is bright for Campbell. Toon boss Alan Pardew and the 1st-team set-up rate him highly, with Pardew being quoted in the Evening Chronicle: "I think Adam's at the point where, depending on our business, a loan is an option for him. We're trying to bring in a striker, if not two. For the moment, Adam will hang around. Once I think our criteria have been filled, a loan would be brilliant for him. He needs to play professional Football. I'm considering that at the moment."

With Newcastle having confirmed interest Darren Bent, who Aston Villa are desperately trying to sell, QPR's Loic Remy and Olympique Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, it seems more of a when than an if with regard to the England U19 forward spending next season out on loan.

Scottish outfit St Mirren have been touted as a possible destination, after Newcastle youngster Paul Dummett had a successful loan spell at St Mirren last season. Motherwell have also shown interest in Campbell but it has been said that Campbell would prefer a loan switch to a Championship side instead.
