After enduring a tough end to his first season in the Premier League, rumours were linking Negredo with an exit from Manchester City this summer. But Negredo himself has announced that he has no intention of leaving City during this transfer window.

During a Q&A session on CityTV Negredo stated: "I don't to leave City. I'm very happy and very settled here. I had a difficult end to the season and that's why there has been a lot of talking but I've been very happy here from the first day I arrived."

When asked if he was feeling homesick, Negredo responded with: "No. Maybe a bit more on the personal side than when we talk about football but I don't cry easily. I am sensible but I have to love that person a lot to feel homesick."

Negredo has been strongly linked with a move back to La Liga - with Spanish champions Atletico Madrid thought to be interested in the Spanish international - but after aquiring the services of Mario Manzukic, it would appear their pursuit of Negredo is off.

It seems as though Negredo will remain at the Etihad next season, and Manuel Pellegrini will be grateful to have the powerful frontman at his disposal. Because despite ending the season poorly - mainly due to injury problems - Negredo still managed to notch 23 goals in all competitions.
