According to the Daily Mirror, Javi García is set to be offloaded by Manchester City this summer.

The Premier League champions were preparing to allow either García or Álvaro Negredo to leave the club before Negredo broke his fifth metatarsal in City's 2-1 pre-season win over Hearts, but his injury means that he is unlikely to occupy one of the 16 non-homegrown player slots in their Champions League pool.

García, who joined the blues in a £15.8m deal from Benfica in 2012, is behind Fernandinho, Yaya Touré and new signing Fernando in the pecking order at City and is likely to leave the Etihad Stadium to make way for FC Porto's Eliaquim Mangala.

Napoli have shown an interest in the 27-year-old.
