According to the Watford Observerthe Hornets have agreed a deal with both Jose Manuel Jurado and his current club, Spartak Moscow. With reports from Moscow claiming the player is close to joining Watford.

The Spaniard has plenty of experience in top divisions, having played in many of the top leagues in Europe.

He has played in La Liga mostly for Atletico Madrid, where he worked under current Watford head coach Quique Sanches Florez. Jose Manuel Jurado made a total of 88 appearances for Atletico Madrid, scoring a total of 10 goals.

The player then moved to the Bundesliga after his time in Spain, where he played for Schalke for two years before moving on loan and then on a permanent deal to Russian side Spartak Moscow. Overall he made 68 appearances for the club, netting 14 times.

However Jurado is yet to play in the Premier League, despite playing in many top divisions across Europe. Although this situation is likely to change in the near future, should reports from Moscow and the Watford Observer turn out to be true.

Jose Manuel Jurado will reportedly join up with his new team-mates this week in the UK, given that Watford have just got back from their pre-season camp in Germany.

Signing number eight for Watford

The Hornets have clearly shown their intention to add quality and experience to their squad following promotion to the Premier League. Jurado would be the club's eighth summer signing so far, with a lot of time in the transfer window still remaining.

The club have already broken their record transfer fee this summer in signing Etienne Capoue from Tottenham and it doesn't look like the owners want to stop spending just yet.

With the new season kicking off on the 8th of August, we can see why there is a sense of urgency for Watford in singing players, in order to give the best chance for the new manager to mold his squad.
