Interesting team selections tonight! City start with Kompany and Kolarov amongst others of the substitutes' bench - unchanged from their emphatic victory on the weekend. Meanwhile, the visitors leave forward Fernando Llorente and midfielder Steven N'Zonzi on the bench; the latter's return to England following his switch to Spain from Stoke in the summer.

SEVILLA: Sergio Rico; Trémoulinas, Kolodziejczak, Rami, Coke; Iborra, Krychowiak; Vitolo, Konoplyanka, Banega and Gameiro. Subs - Andreolli, Mariano, Soria, Krohn-Dehli, N'Zonzi, Reyes and Llorente.

MANCHESTER CITY: Hart; Zabaleta, Otámendi, Mangala, Sagna; Fernandinho, Touré; Sterling, Navas, de Bruyne and Bony. Subs - Caballero, Kolarov, Kompany, Fernando, Demichelis, Glendon and Barker.

CONFIRMED TEAMS, are as follows..

Whether or not he’ll start tonight, remains to be seen. With the likes of Sterling and de Bruyne being brought in this summer, Navas hasn’t found it as easy to get into the team as he would have liked, and has made just seven starts this season. However, due to the aforementioned injury list, he is in contention for a starting place tonight.

One player who will be keen to make an impact tonight, should he get the opportunity, is Jesús Navas. After making 285 appearances for Sevilla from 2003 onwards, winning two UEFA Cup’s and two Copa Del Rey’s during that time, he moved to Manchester City in 2013, and hasn’t had the chance to play against his former club yet.

The Spanish team’s league form hasn’t been as good as they’d have liked it to be so far this season, and they sit just 13th in La Liga after eight games. A 1-1 draw against Eibar at the weekend was their latest points dropped.

Sevilla are currently having some injury troubles of their own, and could be without frontman Fernando Llorente after he suffered an abductor injury. Former Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta and defender Daniel Carrico are definitely out, whilst Lusimi is a doubt due to a metatarsal problem.

They managed to do okay without Agüero and co on Saturday though, hammering Bournemouth 5-1 at the Etihad. Wilfried Bony and Raheem Sterling stepped up to the plate, scoring two and three goals respectively, whilst Kevin de Bruyne continued the good form that he’s shown since making a big-money switch from VfL Wolfsburg this summer.

Unfortunately for City, Aguero won’t be available tonight, due to being sidelined with a hamstring injury. Another key player out is David Silva, who has an ankle problem picked up on international duty with Spain. Fabian Delph, Samir Nasri and Gäel Clichy are also amongst the first team players injured.

It was a more positive Matchday Two for Manchester City, who came from behind to beat Borussia, after losing to Juventus in their first game. Nicolas Otámendi levelled the scores with a header from a corner, before Sergio Agüero’s late penalty secured all three points.

Last time out, Sevilla were beaten 2-0 away against Juventus. Goals from Álvaro Morata and Simone Zaza did the damage, putting an end to the momentum that the Spaniards had built up with an opening 3-0 win against Borussia.

Following a dramatic matchday two, this group is finely poised heading into tonight’s games. Juventus, who host Borussia Mönchengladbach in tonight’s other group game, are top on six points, ahead of City and Sevilla on three, whilst Borussia are yet to pick up a point.

My name is Ollie Emmerson, and I'll be bringing you all of tonight's build-up ahead of a tantalising clash! City editor and writer Mosope Ominiyi, will be commentating on the game itself - in my absence.
