Louis van Gaal revealed in an interview with MUTV that Antonio Valencia, James Wilson and Memphis Depay are all injured and will miss the match against Crystal Palace this weekend, as they join Paddy McNair and Luke Shaw on the injury list.

Valencia suffered a foot injury against Manchester City last weekend, and will now miss the Crystal Palace match after missing the Capital One Cup match against Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening.

Wilson and Memphis injured during Middlesbrough game

James Wilson who made his first start of the season against Middlesbrough midweek was subbed at half time with an injury, and was replaced by Wayne Rooney, and is ruled out of the game against Crystal Palace, while Memphis picked up a knock in the Capital One Cup match as well and will also miss the Palace game.

Van Gaal said "Wilson is injured but also Memphis Depay was injured" and Van Gaal felt the Middlesbrough game was a "very bad game afterwards because we lost on penalties and also we lost two players" which is a problem as Van Gaal has a small enough squad as it is without more of his players being injured.

Ashley Young close to full fitness

This season United haven't had many injuries which was a massive change from what it was like last season when they couldn't catch a break, and Ashley Young who had been injured and missed the three matches after getting injured in the game against Arsenal is edging closer to full fitness after coming on as a substitute midweek for Marcos Rojo.

McNair and Shaw still out for some time with injuries

United are also without Paddy McNair who suffered a serious rib injury while on International duty with Northern Ireland, and is still a bit away from recovering from it, while Luke Shaw is still out with a broken leg he suffered six weeks ago.
