After only moving to Leicester City in the summer, Switzerland captain Gokhan Inler could already has a route out of the Midlands thanks to Sinisa Mihajlovic's AC Milan.

As reported by various Italian media outlets in the past few days, it appears that the Rossoneri are currently considering a January loan bid to bring the former Napoli midfielder to the San Siro.

Experience

Having plied his trade in the Serie A for a number of years prior to his transfer to Claudio Ranieri's table-toppers, Inler could easily slot into the former European Champions' team. Throughout his esteemed career, he has managed to make over 250 appearances in the Italian top-flight for a variety of clubs including Napoli and Udinese after moving from FC Zurich in 2007.

As a matter of the fact, the classy central-midfielder was even able to lift two Coppa Italia titles during his time in Naples. So, with this winning mentality and undoubted quality, Inler could be the perfect option to partner the likes of Nigel De Jong and Riccardo Montolivo in the midfield.

Limited game-time

However, if Inler was to move back to Italy, it would certainly raise a few eyebrows considering his relatively short stay in England. The 31-year-old only joined the Foxes in August in a reported £5million transfer. Signing a three-year deal in the process, it seemed that the experienced midfielder would be the perfect replacement for the recently-departed Esteban Cambiasso.

However, the ex-Udinese man has found game-time hard to come by since moving to the Midlands. Having only made three appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign, it is clear Inler has found it difficult to break into the Leicester City XI due to the form of N'Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater. Also, with fellow midfielder Matty James looking set to return form a cruciate injury soon, competition could soon be well increased.

So, will Inler leave the King Power Stadium in January?
