Manchester United's under-19 were hammered 5-0 by PSV Eindhoven  under-19s in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday night, hours ahead of the two senior teams facing each other at Old Trafford.

Tosin Kehinde replaced Zak Dearnley for United early on due to injury. The Dutch side started the game far better and quickly took the lead. Albert Gudmundsson missed a chance in the first few minutes but made it 1-0 after thirteen minutes.

PSV batter United's under-19 side

PSV knew they needed a win having gone into kick-off as bottom placed in Group B of the 2015/16 UEFA Youth League. They certainly made sure they would get that win, refusing to sit back on their early lead. Ten minutes after Gudmondsson's opener, Ramon Pascal Lundqvist headed the second, leaving Nicky Butt's young side needed a United-like comeback to even have the smallest of chances in the game.

Man United switched goalkeepers before Dean Henderson had to pick a third out of net. Yet George Dorrington was quickly picking up where his teammate left off. Dirk Ebels made it 3-0 before half-time thanks to a move set up by the scorer of the first goal, Gudmundsson.

Geert Brusseler will have been very pleased going into the break, but clearly told his players not to let up. Sam Lammers made it a remarkable four nil away to Man United for the Dutch side from a corner.

Another header came to make it a five-star performance, with substitute Joey Konings  heading past Dorrington in the eighty-third minute.

The defeat for Man United leaves the under-19 side bottom of UEFA Youth League Group B. Nicky Butt's side have five points from as many games, having won just once, scored only four times and conceded an average of two goals per game.

United need win and results to go their way to go through

United beat PSV 3-0 in the first game between the two sides but now need a win away to Vfl Wolfsburg and a loss for PSV in the final matchday to go through to the knockout stages. Meanwhile, PSV just need a win against CSKA Moscow to go through.
