Unsettling injury news for Silva

During their 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Premier League leaders Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, Manchester City midfielder David Silva was substituted in the latter stages of the second-half.

According to initial reports in the Mirror, fears suggest Silva may have suffered a reoccurence of the ankle injury he sustained during international duty with his native Spain back in October.

If true, then Silva could possibly be sidelined for a couple of weeks at the earliest - the club would be eager to avoid him aggravating the injury further, regardless of the upcoming fixtures they have to play. Amongst them, is a crunch clash against Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool side at Wembley - for their first opportunity to seal Cup glory this term. The 30-year-old could consequently miss their FA Cup clash against Chelsea (away), as well as the two-legged Champions League tie against Dynamo Kyiv.

Neymar interest continues to intensify

With the confirmed announcement regarding Pep Guardiola's arrival at Eastlands from the 2016/17 campaign onwards, the most sought-after manager in world football doesn't only bring plenty of expertise and a title-winning mentality alongside him to England, but also the pulling power to help influence top players to join his ranks.

Barcelona winger Neymar, 24, has been in high demand from the rest of Europe's elite since cementing his credentials as a top player, at one of the world's best sides. Alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, the talented Brazilian has been part of a fearsome trio who've dominated Spain and Europe as a whole over the past eighteen months.

However, both Manchester clubs have been linked with audacious moves to seal his signature as a star addition to their respective teams. Although Barça will be understandably reluctant to let the star winger depart anytime soon, he recently sparked speculation about his future once more when talking about the one manager he'd love to play under - Pep himself.

As quoted by Sky Sports, he said Guardiola is a guy who he "really admires" and as a result, would "love to work with." He also spoke about his plans for the future, citing returning to his native Brazil and playing in America as two countries he'd ideally want to play in.
