Manchester United made light work of League One Shrewsbury Town which gives manager Louis van Gaal some respite as they eased into the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Chris Smalling's scuffed shot put United ahead after the visitors threatened from the get-go, and Juan Mata's free-kick doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time.
The hosts barely threatened and Jesse Lingard put the icing on the cake by turning home Ander Herrera's cross just after the hour mark.

Clean-sheet for the back five
Sergio Romero (6 out of 10) – The main reason for the rating is because he had very little to do in the game. David De Gea is still on the sidelines, but the Shrews barely had any chances.
Guillermo Varela (6 out of 10) – The youngster kept his first clean sheet in the first-team and showed composure on the ball. Took whatever came at him head on, but that was very little.
Chris Smalling (6 out of 10) – Unlike the Midtjylland game, Smalling had very little to do, although the nerves must have been jangling at the start, he managed to keep United steady at the back. He also managed to open the scoring in the game.
Daley Blind (7 out of 10) – Again, Blind was arguably the best defender on the park in the game, he always keeps a level head and clears up any mess that occurs, also got forward for set-pieces.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (7 out of 10) – A quiet night for the youngster at the back, but he still showed experience and composure. Was replaced at half-time by Joe Riley, who was making his first-team debut.
Better night for the midfield
Ander Herrera (6 out of 10) – It is also no surprise that Herrera was brought in to give the side more options going forward. He did just that, managing to set up United’s final goal among playing comfortably alongside Schneiderlin.
Morgan Schneiderlin (7 out of 10) – Replaced Michael Carrick in the centre of the park, which was no surprise, and was totally dominant from start to finish. His pass completion rate was outstanding.
United looked lively going forward
Jesse Lingard (7 out of 10) – The youngster has been a revelation this season and despite a quiet first half, the forward managed to get on the score-sheet in the second, slotting home at the back post.
Juan Mata (8 out of 10) – The Spaniard would openly admit he wasn’t on his game last Thursday, but he was one of United’s better players, scoring a beautiful free-kick on the stroke of half-time.
Memphis Depay (6 out of 10) – Memphis looked as though he would get on the score-sheet in the first-half, he linked up well with Martial and Lingard, but the summer signing from PSV needs to do it in the bigger games.
Anthony Martial (6 out of 10) – Had a couple of chances in both halves, and against such an opposition he probably should have done better, but he still linked up well with the other two forwards on the break.
Substitutes
Joe Riley (6 out of 10) – Came on at half-time and never looked under pressure on the ball, he made his first-team debut in the game.
Andreas Pereira (6 out of 10) – The Brazilian under-20 starlet came on in place of Mata on 65 minutes and had a good few chances to take defenders on.
Will Keane (5 out of 10) – After a great run for the under-21s, he was given his chance in the final 20 minutes of the half, but he picked up a groin injury when his shot struck the post. He lasted only five minutes after coming on for Martial.
