La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna are beginning to plan for life in Spain's top flight next season, with current loanee Luis Alberto part of their transfer plans - and Liverpool could be willing to sanction a deal if they can recoup much of the outlay they spent on him.
The forward has been a key member of Victor Sánchez's side, acting as competition for top scorer Lucas Perez that has seen the club sit merrily in the top half of Spain's elite division.
Alberto to Deportivo
Alberto never really got going at Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers with Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez blocking his path to the first team.
With just 12 appearances to his name at Anfield and no goals to show for it, he was quickly shipped off to Spanish side Malaga where he found marginal form to feature 20 times for the Boquerones.
The following season with Rodgers still at the helm of the reds he was again loaned out but this time to Deportivo La Coruna where he has since become an important player at the Riazor.
With 25 appearances and six goals to his merit, Deportivo are looking to add the 23-year-old to their squad for the next season and are also interested in adding a second out-of-favour Liverpool player to their ranks.
With Jürgen Klopp yet to see Alberto play it is likely a decision may be made in the Summer, but with the forward currently under contract with the reds until 2018 - the club could command a heavy price for the young player.
Illori interest
The 23-year-old defender must have felt as if the world was at his feet when he was recalled to his parent club in January, however fate dealt Tiago Ilori a cruel hand as the player has featured just three times for the reds since.
The one bright career of the former Sporting Lisbon man has since took a tumble as upon signing for Liverpool for a fee of £7 million he was loaned out just six months later then again the two seasons following, becoming a forgotten man at Anfield.
In January he was recalled amid the defensive crisis at the club and was immediately thrust into his first appearance for the reds in a league cup tie at Exeter City, and fitness issues prevented him from finishing the game.
Ilori is also out-of-favour under Klopp and is yet to make an apperance since Febuary 9 prompting the interest of Deportivo.
With Joel Matip set to arrive at Anfield next term it is likely the chances for the 23-year-old to impressive enough to warrant a starting place have already faded and a permanent transfer away from the club may be the best option for a player with time on his side.
