After a comfortable 0-4 away win at Bournemouth, Manchester City face a potentially decisive two-legged Champions League fixture which could ultimately decide whether this season is viewed as a success or not. Having played most of their best football in Europe this season, you would hope the sky Blues can go to Paris and get a positive result.

The injury list for this week's trip is unchanged with Vincent Kompany, Raheem Sterling and Yaya Touré still unavailable. However Joe Hart may still get a look in as the England international faces a battle to achieve match fitness, supposedly '50/50' in terms of whether he'll be able to recover in time from his calf inury. EDS goalkeeper Angus Gunn is on standby should Hart not make it in time.

Laurent Blanc confirmed that the Parisiens will be without midfielders Javier Pastore and Marco Verratti, two players key to the engine room of the Paris side. Meanwhile creative midfielder Angel di María - who recently had a muscle complaint - has been declared fully fit for the clash.

What they're saying

Samir Nasri, who is unavailable due to being omitted from the Champions League squad through his long-term injury, has been taking shots at the French giants claiming that they'd struggle in England: "There are no easy games in England, not one. I'd like to see Paris play a Monday night at Stoke, West Ham or at the Emirates against Arsenal". Words that hopefully don't come back to bite the Frenchman.

Across the channel Zlatan Ibrahimovic had some much kinder words for the Blues with praise for the big names saying: "They are a good team, a very good team. They have had a lot of success in the years since the project began and they have fantastic individual players. I played with Yaya Touré [at Barcelona]. I like him, I like him a lot."

Verdict

Whilst many make the claim that the French league is incredibly unbalanced there's no denying that Paris are the 'dark horse' in this year's competition and are no pushover having comfortably dispatched Chelsea in the previous round.

For the Blues meanwhile it's their last competition they have any chance of winning - so perhaps we will see a similar City performance to the one we're used to watching in Europe this term. As we've seen all season though, the sky Blues are "consistently inconsistent." I feel this tie could easily go either way with both sides being of equal high-quality.
