Formerly known as the FIFA Youth Tournament, it is an official international championship played between the UEFA U-19 European national teams. It is endorsed by FIFA and is held every year. The último champion ón was Spain ña, on July 27, 2019 faced against Portugal and the Spanish óola national team ended up winning 2 to 0. The U19 European Championship awards five berths to next year's U20 World Cup.

In their last match corresponding to the second phase of the qualifiers for this tournament, the Serbs beat Norway by a thrilling 3-2 score, also defeated the Netherlands and drew with Ukraine 1-1, basically, having a clean second phase without defeat. In fact, in their last 7 matches, Serbia have only lost once and that was on November 16, 2021 when they lost 1-2 to France U19 in the first round of the Qualifiers. In their first match of the European Championship they were held to a draw in an even match that ended in a 2-2 draw, where Lekovic rescued a point for the Greeks in stoppage time. They are now third in the group with a point in the locker.

England have booked their ticket to the U19 European Championship finals, after emerging victorious in Group A of the qualifying round and topping Group C of the elite round. The English team is looking for its second title, after the one obtained in 2017.  This national team has not lost a match in an official way since 2019 where it lost 2-1 at home to Greece in the second round of the European qualifiers. In the first match of the group stage the English won 2-0 against Austria and is currently the leader of the group.

The England and Serbia U19 teams have met three times, with England winning twice, while the Serbian team has won only once. The first time they met was in 2008 in the group stage of the European Championship where the English won 1-0.  In 2008 they played in the qualifying round of the European Championship where Serbia won 1-4. The most recent time they met was in 2012 when they met in the group stage of the European Championship where England won 1-2.
