As Week 13 of the Toppserien ended this weekend, the most talked about result was surely the huge win by Trondheims-Ørn over Vålerenga this weekend.

The Toppserien also saw Avaldsnes and LSK Kvinner separate themselves from the chasing pack with some solid wins as well. This weekend also saw some movement in the middle of the pack as well as the first point of the season for Urædd.

Trondheims-Ørn triumph in the battle at the lower end of the table

Before this weekend, Trondheims-Ørn and Vålerenga were level on points in the table but above the relegation spots. Both teams were hoping to gain even more distance from the bottom two places and Trondheims-Ørn were the victors on this occasion as they hammered the visitors Vålerenga by seven goals to nil.

Sarah Suphellen started things off for the home side with a goal in the fifth minute of the match. Marit Clausen then added to the lead with a brace before Guro Reiten ended the half with her first of three goals on the day.

Reiten was at it again in the second half as she finished off her hat-trick with goals in the seventieth and eightieth minute and Lisa-Marie Utland finished off the scoring in the match with a goal in the 90th minute. This win leaves Trondheims-Ørn in eighth place in the table while Vålerenga remain in tenth.

Urædd shock vistors Stabæk

The other outstanding result of the weekend saw Urædd pick up their first point of the season against a very good Stabæk side as they drew two-all. Urædd had not managed to find any poitns before this weekend and looked destined for relegation but this result could prove to be the catalyst they need to push themselves off the bottom of the table.

Rebecca Mykland was the pick of the Urædd players and it was she who gave Urædd a two-nil lead going into half time with her goals coming in the ninth and thirty-fourth minute. After the half, Stabæk found their rhythm again and answered back with two goals of their own from Ingvild Isaksen and Gunnhildur Jonsdottir in the 62nd and 67th minutes. Neither team could find the winner after that no matter how hard Stabæk pushed for it which leaves Stabæk now in fourth position while Urædd remain at the bottom.

Avaldsnes, LSK match each other again

At the top of the table Avaldsnes kept their slim lead over LSK as they found a way to win two to one away at a surpisingly tough Medkila side. Most observers would have thought this would be an easy three points for Avaldsnes as they have been one of the premier teams in the Toppserien this season while Medkila are currently languishing in the second relegation spot but that was not the case.

The first half remained scoreless and it was not until the 52nd minute that Avaldsnes found the breakthrough from Adrine Tomter. Medkila, did not go away and they drew themselves level in the 58th minute when Ann Dovland found the back of the net. Avaldsnes continued to push for a winner and found one when Andrea Rosa popped up to give Avaldsnes the lead and the eventual win over Medkila.

LSK on the other hand, had no such problems in seeing off Kolbotn with an emphatic win even though Kolbotn currently lie third in the table. Sherida Spitse and Isabell Herlovsen got the goals for LSK in the first half. Anja SonstevoldEmilie Haavi and Herlovsen again then piled on the misery for Kolbotn as LSK finished the match with five goals to Kolbotn's zero. Herlovsen now leads the goal-scoring charts with 15 goals and does not seem to be stopping her great form in front of goal any time soon. LSK are now one point behind Avaldsnes but with their game in hand, one should think that they will capitalise on this in the near future and over take the current league leaders.

Røa pushes ahead in the midtable jostling

The other round of matches saw Røa distance themselves from the middle order and continue on with their winning streak as they defeated Klepp by two goals to one. Substitutes Vilde Hasund, with her first goal of the season, and Elisabeth Jeppesen, with her sixth goal of the season, found the breakthrough for the home side.

Gry Ims could only find a consolation goal for the visting Klepp side and it proved to be only a consolation as it came in the 90th minute. Røa now sit fifth in the table and six points away from fourth placed Stabæk while Klepp slide down the order and find themselves in ninth.

Arna-Bjornar had to wait until the 47th minute to find a breakthrough against visitors SandvikenAmalie Eikeland scored the only goal of the game with her fourth of the season and Sanviken could not find a way through Arna-Bjornar's defense. Arna-Bjornar rise to sixth and with a game in hand over Røa, could find themselves in fifth place if all goes according to plan. With this loss, Sanviken slide into seventh, four points behind Arna-Bjornar and level on points with Trondheims-Ørn and Klepp.
