Jack Wilshere has praised Granit Xhaka’s style and believes he will be a good fit for Arsenal next season.

While speaking to Arsenal’s official website, the England international discussed Xhaka’s talents and previous experiences playing against Xhaka has sold him: "I've played against him a few times at youth level for England and also for the first team with England, so I know him quite well" Wilshire started out.

He labelled the Swiss as "a good player" who is "very strong and has got a good left foot." Furthermore, Wilshere added, "He's a leader" who "can hold the midfield together and can get things going from back to front" before concluding "he's a good signing."

Wilshere also was impressed how quickly the Swiss international had settled into his new surroundings at Arsenal after only a week’s training. Xhaka was absent from last week’s friendly against RC Lens but Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will make his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt on Thursday night.

Xhaka was Arsene Wenger’s first signing of the summer after completing a £30M move from Borussia Monchengladbach with Japanese international Takuma Asano the only other summer signing at The Emirates

Wilshere looks ahead to MLS All Star game

Ahead of Friday night’s game against the MLS All Stars, Wilshere could not contain his excitement when discussing the fixture.

"I'm very excited about the game" he said, "These are players I looked up to when I was growing up - the likes of Pirlo and Kaka."

Wilshire was full of praise for the pair who "have been at the top of their game for more than ten years" and admitted "it will be nice to play against them."

Arsenal face the MLS All-Star team on Thursday night, facing the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Kaka, David Villa and old enemy Dider Drogba. Arsene Wenger’s men will also face Chivas de Guadalajara on their two game tour of North America.
