On Friday morning, 1. FFC Frankfurt announced that they had extended the contract of head coach, Matt Ross.
Ross had been in temporary charge before being given the job on a full-term basis in February, and hasn't looked back since.
He had big shoes to fill after Colin Bell's departure, but the Australian tactician will be hoping to go on an emulate his success with his future secured until 2018.
Ross joins Mandy Islacker, among others, to have been tied down by the four-time UEFA Women's Champions League winners to 2018.
Steady progress
Ross has brought back the goalscoring prowess to Frankfurt, which was already apparent in his few games as interim manager.
However with the departures of Simone Laudehr, Dzsenifer Marozsan and Emily van Egmond, that could have slipped away.
An eight-nil win to start the season, including a Islacker hat-trick, put those doubts to bed with a quite devastating performance.
After narrowly missing out on the Champions League places last term and guiding Frankfurt to the semi-finals, Ross will be desperate to get his side back to the big time.
With the distraction of a European campaign, perhaps the German giants can concentrate more on doing just that.
Ross and Dietrich have their say
Ross, speaking to the club website, said: "The early extension of my contract until 2018 is a huge vote of trust from the team, for that I am very thankful."
He added, "I am looking forward to continuing to work closely with the club, with manager Siggi Dietrich and also the FFC Board."
Dietrich continued, "The premature extension with Matt Ross is in line with our sporting plans with important and key players, and also talented players who can develop."
The manager concluded, "It is a logical step, after all, to continue to on the same path to our team goals."
